Introducing our Humans of Tomorrow
The Man behind all creative artwork in our boutique
I’ve always wanted to be a fashion designer, ever since I could remember. “Designers aren’t paid very well.” my mother would tell me. It didn’t help either that I was colour blind. People would laugh and mock me. Because of the fact that I see colours significantly different under different lighting, I would always need someone there with me when I would go fabric sourcing, or even when mixing paint colours. It does occasionally make me feel like a burden to others, but with this I’ve also come to realise the plenty of good people that I’ve met. I fought with my family all the time, and it got worse when I had to make a decision. Eventually, my mom came up to me and said “Ah Hao” with a tone that wavered, “I’ll support you, but make sure you’ve made the right choice.” I lit up. I was happy safe to say, it was the kind of happiness that you’d only get to feel once in a lifetime. Design isn’t easy, don’t get me wrong, I hate the stereotype placed on it. It wasn’t an easy journey, but it was worth it. Nothing great ever comes easy. You can’t have a rainbow without a little rain right? Remember, dreams don’t work unless you do.
